Small hand thrown oil lamp that is perfect for use on an altar.
The lamp can be used with both vegetable and mineral oil. A wick is included. The lamp has enough capacity to burn for multiple hours, the exact time would depent on the type of oil and weather conditions.
I've chosen a high fire white claybody for these lamps. That means the oil lamp is non-porous and won't leave stains or leak oil.
The inside and top half of the outside are glazed with a glossy transparant glaze.
Oil lamps are a staple in hermetic magic practices, I initially made the lamps for my own practice which features many hermetic influences. Many PMG style magic features ceramic oil lamps. Also in the Abramelin ritual much heavy lifting is done by the oil lamp.
This is a handmade object, I made it on my pottery wheel and although I try to make an uniform product, the exact shape, speckles, size or weight might be slightly different from the lamp in the picture.
